DISCOVER SOMETHING
NEW EVERYTIME YOU VENTURE OUT
Cambridge is the place to go out and
about, whether you are exploring,
or even if you have a specific destination in mind. There is so
much to see and do; the likelihood
is that you will discover something
new each time you venture out of the door.
For a thriving city, Cambridge
has
an abundance of open spaces and parks.
Some of these are used for annual
fairs and fetes; others are used
by Cambridge residents to chill out
on or to lounge around on during a hot summer evening.
People also play football,
frisbee, cricket and various other
sports, making the most of the
surroundings. Annual fireworks displays
also take place on one of the parks,
as well as local sports tournaments.
The Botanical Gardens is also well
worth a visit, especially during
the spring and summer - when
the flowers are in bloom and each
themed garden really comes into
its own.
The river is a huge
tourist attraction,
whether you want to go punting
or take a leisurely stroll along
the river by the Backs (the local
term for the back of Kings College
and its neighbouring colleges),
which is stunning at anytime of
year.
Even when you need to escape the
hustle and bustle of everyday life,
Cambridge can offer you sanctuary, even
in the very heart of the city.
